One-time debit card transactions are purchases you make through day-to-day spending at grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, payments over the phone or thru online merchants using your debit card.  An ATM transaction is a withdrawal you make at any ATM, whether owned by us or not.
We understand mistakes happen and while we do not advocate overdrawing your account, keeping your account in good standing and avoiding non-sufficient funds fees assessed by merchants is extremely important.  So we give you the option to ask us to approve and pay into overdraft your ATM and one-time debit card transactions.
Debit card purchases that bill your account automatically (like a gym membership) and checks written by you are not affected by this option and will continue to be reviewed under our standard overdraft practices.
If you do not agree (opt in) to our authorization & payment of overdrafts on your ATM and one-time debit card transactions, and your account is not set up with other overdraft protection options, these everyday transactions will be declined at point of sale.
